Everyone is invited to a family friendly, hour long, free performance of marimba music, Friday, April 28th, 7:30 PM at Raven Landing (1222 Cowles Street). Our local "Severende" ensemble features the southern African music of Zimbabwe where, in the Shona Language, marimba means "the wood that sings." 
 
Learn about marimbas, Zimbabwe, and why many of our friends and neighbors play this music. 
 
This monthly, "Last Friday at Raven Landing" music series of free concerts is sponsored by the College Rotary Club of Fairbanks to celebrate the diverse music and musicians of our community. 
Bikes for Ukrainian Refugees! Our club has collected many many bikes for kids (and a few for adults) to give to the Ukrainian refugees in Delta Junction! A wonderful gift made possible by the generosity of Fairbanks, Alaska. 
The "Fairbanks Ragtime Club" will roll out ragtime piano and blues tunes for listening and dancing this Friday evening, March 31st, 7:30 to 8:30 pm at Raven Landing. The public is invited to join the Raven Landing residents to hear four local musicians. 
 
This "Last Friday at Raven Landing" monthly series is sponsored by the our club- Rotary Club of College and Raven Landing features local musicians in family-friendly, hour-long programs. Music will include vocalists and instrumentalists, ranging from harmonicas to marimbas, classical to jazz, solos to ensembles-- illustrating the diversity and excellence of our community musicians. 
 
The programs are free and family-friendly. Free-will donations benefit the preforming musicians and assist with Raven Landing piano maintenance.

On October 29th, College Rotary passed out candy and decorated a cabin for Halloween town! It was a wonderful chance to support the community. Since 2017, Trick or Treat Town has raised over 80,000 dollars to support playgrounds at Pioneer Park here in Fairbanks. Here's some members of the club all dressed up and enjoying the chilly weather. 
President Tom wanted to travel the Northeast Passage but was unable to take the time off from work. As a consolation prize he receives a liter bottle of fine Russian vodka.
District Governor Andre Layral recognizes the many, many years of service that Cheryl Keepers has given to District 5010's Youth Exchange Program.
Bryce Wrigley gave a fantastic presentation today at our meeting about the Alaska Flour Company. The presentation is available for your viewing.
Our program today, Youth Exchange, was presented by Maria Andersen, College Rotary’s visiting Youth Exchange Student from Denmark, and Andrew Maxwell, College Rotary’s returning Youth Exchange Student who visited Norway.

Our program today, The Aleutian Islands, was presented by our own College Rotarian, Ron Inouye, who shared highlights and wonderful pictures of his June 20 – July 3, 2013, tour of the Aleutian Islands commemorating the 70th Anniversary or World War II.
